Nick, my builder, has arrangements with two flooring stores in Green Bay for contractor pricing. I picked HJ Martin & Son and was given lots of help by one of their designers, Breanna Reed. As I discussed in the beginning of this blog in "Concepts and Thoughts" I had decided on LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring - the rigid core, snap together kind, not the glue down. But almost all of that is made in China. I say "almost" because after a lot of internet searching and calling customer service of various companies, I finally found that Mohawk has two product lines made in the USA. These are SPC (stone plastic composite) LVP. SPC rigid core has a core of limestone with some plasticizer mixed in. After getting samples and seeing how they looked with my cabinets and granite, here is what I decided:
Entire mail floor except master bathroom & the entry from the garage: Mohawk Solidtech Plus; pattern: Franklin; color: Salina

And for the lower level, I picked Mohawk Solidtech Plus; pattern: Thatcher; color: Salem

So that took care of most of the flooring. Breanna from HJ Martin found some really nice glue down LVT (luxury vinyl tile) for the master bathroom - Mannington AduraFlex; pattern: Cape May; color: Shell; made in the USA.

That left the entry from the garage including the laundry/mudroom and the pantry. I wanted regular ceramic or porcelain tile here, mainly because of tracking in snow. I settled on using Daltile which makes most of their product in the US. I discovered that Daltile has a showroom in Green Bay and they give out samples of almost any of the tile. I think i made at least four visits there between selecting tile for the floor and for the sower and tub surrounds. I finally picked Daltile Brickwork, color Patio for the entry floor. After it was installed, I liked it so much, I decided to use it for the fireplace surround on the main floor.

The bottom line was that all of my flooring material is USA made.
