First the drain for the garage was put in by the plumber, then we got a load of small gravel for under the apron and porch, then poured the garage floor. I had decided a while back to go ahead and put the piping under the apron for asnow melt system. This is similar to in floor heating except outside. The pipes then go into the basement where at some future date I will hook up a boiler. I have heard that some people use their hot water heater but I don't know if plain water is advisable. In floor heat uses a water/glycol mix.
