The exterior trim and siding took FOREVER!  They started with the trim around the windows the last week of May. Then worked on the soffits all of June. We used pine tongue and grove stained dark brown like the siding. They started the siding the 2nd week of June and finally finished the last week of July. I think the holdup was a lack of qualified crews. The cultured stone went on the last week of June. After the siding, the facia was put up. It has a curvy under side like the alpine houses. And August 22nd the red shutters with the pine tree cut out were installed. The last week of August they installed the corbels on the lake side of the house. However, they are dark like the siding and you can't really see them when looking up at the eaves, because they are in the shadows. I'm waiting for a time when the sun is low in the west to try to take a picture.

So photo near end of this page.IMG 4246The summer was pretty tough to get to the lake and back. Steep hill and no steps.IMG 4253But fireworks happened in spite of covid. Boats were socially distanced, of course.IMG 4369Last wall of siding - master bedroom & bathIMG 4373The final spot for the siding - "rear" porchIMG 4387Most people would call this the "front" door. But since I think the front is the lakeside, I guess I'll call it the main door.IMG 4467And finally, the fancy curved gray facia was put up and the red shutters with their pine tree cutout.IMG 4476From the dockIMG 4529Putting up the gutters. They are the same color as the trim so you hardly notice them!!IMG 4562And the finishing touch - the corbels, to make it look like an alpine chalet. You can't see it too well, but that large beam under the roof has finally been finished off.IMG 4562Corbels by the bump out are shorter of course.IMG 4656Another photo of old foundation compared to the new stone. Too bad I managed to pick the spot that hd the paint spilled on it. Or is that eagle poop?
