DAY 2 - Start Framing. Nick Holger Contruction, my contractor/builder's home territory is 85 miles south. His crew is making the round trip every day so they arrive around 8 AM. That's OK, because it is not light much before then.

IMG 2930It's official now! We have the construction trailer on site!IMG 2928Discovered the electrician had been here and put the entrance in. IMG 2931

DAY 3. Things really start to take shape. Begining of day:

IMG 2928 IMG 2951Looking toward the front porch and can see framing for window & door. Window will be 2 36" x 54" casements on either side of a 36"x54" fixed window.IMG 2948Sunken square area in the slab is where the elvator shaft will be for a future elevator if I get to the point I need it.

IMG 2928 IMG 2951At the end of the dayIMG 2948The crew concentrated on the exterior walls and the internal load bearing walls.

DAY 4. Finsh framing needed to put on the floor trusses. Staying south next day because of sub-zero weather in the north woods.

IMG 2928Day 4 starting out. IMG 2951IMG 2948Came back the next mornng and found they had all the floor trusses on!

IMG 2928Trusses that are missing a 2x4 on top are for the walkin shower where the floor has to be slightly lower. IMG 2951You can see the framing left open for the stairs and elevator shaft. Empty area in front is the cold storage under the porch.IMG 2948The opening in front is for the stairs from the garage to the basement. There will be a "bridge" over it and the zero-step door into the house will be right here.
